"I had been working as an undergraduate research assistant in the Supporting MAMI Research Project out of The School of Social and Family Dynamics for about two years, which led me to the discovery of my topic. During one of my tasks, scanning data into the computer, I would constantly see patterns that were interesting to me. When thesis time rolled around, my director and I discussed my different interests in this sample of Mexican American adolescent mothers and decided repeat pregnancy would be a worthwhile pursuit. I found that through my experience, Dr. UmaƱa-Taylor was one of the most important factors in my thesis. I learned many things about the process of writing a 'dissertation-type' document for my pursuits in graduate school."
