Pre-Law Resources

Pre-law students in Barrett can take advantage of ASU’s pre-law resources, which include the Justice & Pre-Law Society and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, pre-law guidance through the Pre-Professional Advising Office, the pre-law listserv, and events such as the annual law school fair and information sessions. In addition to ASU’s pre-law resources, Barrett pre-law students have many special opportunities. These include:

  • Project Excellence (law school courses) and other law-related courses
  • Visiting professors and law faculty who teach special honors courses (e.g., Prof. Michael Berch, Prof. Myles Lynk, Prof. Michael White, Prof. Jonathan Rose)
  • Invitations to lectures and other events held at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law

Barrett graduates historically gain admission to the top law schools in the nation. Recent graduates went on to Harvard, Stanford, George Washington, University of Texas-Austin, and the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at ASU, among others.

Other resources:

  • ASU Pre-Law Advising
  • US News & World Report law school rankings
  • LSAT Prep
  • Barrett graduates offer advice for pre-law students

Additional guidance for pre-law honors students:

  • Select any major that you are passionate about and take courses that give you a well-rounded education. Do not select a particular major because it will “look good” to law schools—this is a myth.
  • Take Project Excellence classes and/or other classes taught by law faculty
  • Complete an honors thesis project that will highlight your analytical abilities. You can even do a thesis with a law professor.
