We understand that choosing a college is one of the most exciting, daunting and important decisions your student will make. For the right student, Stanford can be the most amazing place in the world. As a parent or guardian, we also understand that you might have questions and concerns of your own. This process can be confusing and we want to be sure that you and your student feel supported through the college exploration journey.
Barrett, The Honors College, offers academically high-achieving, well-rounded students unique opportunities designed to maximize their time at Arizona State University. The Barrett student body reflects intellectual and social interests covering the entire spectrum of degree programs available at the four metropolitan Phoenix campuses of ASU.
Barrett offers students financial support of scholarships, grants, and awards through two different resources. The Lorraine W. Frank Office of National Scholarship Advisement helps students prepare to compete for national and international awards of merit. Other opportunities are offered as Barrett specific scholarships, grants and awards and are made possible by the gracious gifts of donors to the college.
Barrett is the most evolved concept for a four-year honors residential college in the country with a presence on four distinct ASU campuses. Intentionally designed and conceived as a residential college, Barrett students benefit from new and world-class amenities on all four campuses. Learning from and having direct access to administrators, faculty, staff, and fellow honors students in a residential college environment maximize student participation in the classroom through small signature seminar classes and outside the classroom as students capitalize on all of the co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities available to them in Barrett and across ASU. Off-campus students also enjoy the amenities of the Barrett residential college while on campus, so we encourage all students to visit their home away from home.
With a multitude of academic programs to choose from, along with access to cutting-edge research, internship and study abroad opportunities, Barrett offers an academically outstanding experience for the best and brightest undergraduates in the nation. Barrett students benefit from a $12 million dollar endowment used exclusively to support honors students and their projects. They have access to dedicated Honors Faculty Fellows, all master teachers and scholars, who give 100% of their time to helping honors students excel in their academic career. In addition, students have the advantage of over 1800 honors faculty in academic units across all ASU colleges.
We believe that visiting a college campus is the best opportunity to see if Barrett and ASU is a good fit for you. Schedule a visit on each campus, you will be sure to fall in love.
