The Barrett Alumni Council consists of donors who meet three times a year on campus to strategize on alumni engagement, in particular fundraising, events and employer relations.

Meghan Cox '07
Meghan Cox ‘07

Meghan Cox graduated from ASU with her bachelor’s degree in political science. Currently, Meghan is a partner at the Lincoln Strategy Group, a nationwide consulting firm specializing in public affairs. While at ASU, Cox was involved with the Associated Students of ASU (ASASU), the ASU Student Foundation, the Honors Devils, Sigma Kappa sorority, and the Panhellenic Council. She contributes to her community by participating in the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Foundation, Valley Leadership, Florence Crittenden and the Valley of the Sun Active 20-30 group.

Chris Hering '07

Chris Hering graduated from ASU in 2007 with degrees in finance and economics. In 2010, he graduated from the University of Arizona College of Law. Currently, Chris is an attorney at Gammage & Burnham, PLC, where he practices commercial litigation, construction law and healthcare law. While at ASU, he was the co-president of the Student Economics Association and was named the Outstanding Graduating Senior for the Department of Economics..

Jenny Holsman Tetreault '00
Jenny Holsman Tetreault '00

Jenny Holsman Tetreault serves as corporate counsel for Rural/Metro Corporation. She is responsible for all company legal work in the West Zone, including Arizona, Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, South Dakota and Nebraska. In this capacity, Holsman Tetreault handles contract drafting and negotiation, employment and labor issues, government relations, risk management, compliance, intellectual property, real estate, and mergers and acquisitions for the company. She also manages the company's litigation portfolio nationally and serves as its Corporate liaison. She teaches U.S. Law and Legal Analysis at the ASU Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law. Jenny graduated from ASU in 2000 and served as the student body president during her senior year. Jenny earned her JD and MA from Syracuse University.

Chris Jaap ‘95
Chris Jaap ‘95, Co-Chair

Chris Jaap, a Barrett alumnus, graduated from ASU in 1995 with a degree in history, and was named the 1995 Outstanding Graduate from ASU’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Chris serves as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for SunPower Corporation, which designs, manufactures and delivers the highest efficiency, highest reliability solar panels and systems available today. Manages global team of legal professionals and advises SunPower’s board of directors and executive management team on corporate strategy and legal matters relating to employment, compliance, litigation, securities, and finance. Also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for Fort Mason Center, a dynamic waterfront destination for thought-provoking programs, events, and organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area and a partner of the National Park Service. Previously advised on commercial, litigation, securities and restructuring matters, for Calpine Corporation, and counseled start-ups and publicly-traded companies as an attorney with Latham & Watkins LLP. Began legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable Leslie Tchaikovsky at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Northern District of California.

Kevin Kelly ‘08
Kevin Kelly ‘08

Kevin Kelly graduated from summa cum laude from Barrett in 2008 with a degree in finance from the W.P. Carey School of Business. He currently is the Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager at Recon Capital Partners. In New York, Kevin focuses primarily on the equities and options securities market. In his previous role, Kevin served as a Portfolio Manager for Tontine Capital, a hedge fund, from 2008 – 2011. Before joining Tontine Capital, Kevin Kelly was Vice President of Investments for Source Capital Group, Inc. based in Westport, Connecticut. Kevin has also worked at Deutsche Bank on its US Private Placement’s Debt Team in London. He also worked for Goldman, Sachs & Co. in San Francisco, for a wealth management team with $6 billion assets under management. He performed due diligence on companies, assets, and investment managers while at Goldman.

Laura Meyer '07
Laura Meyer '07

Laura Meyer graduated summa cum laude from ASU and Barrett in 2007 with degrees in history and political science. While at ASU, Laura went on two Barrett summer study abroad trips and interned in Washington, D.C. through ASU's Capital Scholars program. Laura earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2010. She then completed a year-long Sheldon Seevak Fellowship with Dēmos: A Network for Ideas & Action in Boston, where she worked on campaign finance and National Voter Registration Act litigation. In 2011, Laura moved back to the Phoenix area with her husband, Todd. Laura is currently an attorney at Burch & Cracchiolo, P.A., where she practices in business litigation, government liability defense, and professional liability litigation. She recently began volunteering with the State Bar of Arizona's Diversity Pipeline Project, which partners Arizona's attorneys with schools to encourage children in historically underrepresented populations to consider careers in the legal profession.

Todd Meyer '07

Todd Meyer graduated from ASU in 2007 with a degree in finance. Following graduation he moved to Boston, MA to work as a Program Finance Analyst on the JLENS Missile Defense program at Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems. In 2011, Todd moved back to the Phoenix area with his wife, Laura, and is currently a Software Product Manager at Infusionsoft in Chandler where he works to create innovative sales and marketing software for small businesses.

Sophie O’Keefe Zelman ‘05, Co-Chair

Sophie O’Keefe Zelman graduated summa cum laude from Barrett in 2005 with a degree in political science. After graduating, she went on to receive her master’s in international development and social policy from the University of Manchester in the UK. Currently, Sophie is a senior associate at FirstStrategic Communications & Public Affairs, a bipartisan firm specializing in communications, campaign management, government relations, and policy development. At FirstStrategic, Sophie leads project management efforts in strategic communications and strategy development including issue and political campaigns, grassroots coalition building, polling and policy analysis, and marketing and communications campaigns. In addition, she also oversees and directs media efforts for the firm’s clients, including TV and radio production and placement, website and social media development, print collateral, earned media generation, and press management. During her years spent at Barrett, Sophie served as the Undergraduate Student Body President.

Lea Phillips ’07, ‘11

Lea Phillips graduated from Barrett, The Honors College, in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication. In 2011, she graduated from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at ASU. Currently, Lea is an attorney at Ballard Spahr LLP and is a member of the firm's Environment and Natural Resources Group. She represents industrial, manufacturing and commercial clients in a wide range of environmental litigation, transactional, and regulatory matters. She is a member of the Junior League of Phoenix and the Gamma Phi Beta sorority's Phoenix alumni chapter.

Brooke Sanders graduated from ASU in 2003 with a degree in marketing and economics from the WP Carey School of Business & Barrett, the Honors College. She currently is the regional director of major gifts for UCLA.

Marge Zylla ‘05
Marge Zylla ‘05

Marge Zylla graduated from from Barrett in 2005 with a degree in finance from the W.P. Carey School of Business and a minor in communication. She currently is the Government Relations Officer for the City of Tempe. Prior to joining the City of Tempe, Marge was a Senior Fiscal Analyst at Arizona's Joint Legislative Budget Committee. Marge has also worked for Habitat for Humanity International. While at ASU, Marge was involved with the Rodel Community Scholars Program, Honors Consulting, the ASU Programming and Activities Board, Devils' Advocates and the ASU Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
