Barbara Barrett has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate to be the 25th Secretary of the United States Air Force.

Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University is named for Barrett and her husband Craig. They are longtime ASU supporters and established a $10 million naming endowment for the honors college in 2000.

Barrett, an experienced pilot, former U.S. ambassador to Finland, and senior government official, will be the fourth woman to serve as Secretary of the Air Force. 

“We are extremely proud of Barbara Barrett’s accomplishments and wish her well in her new role. She is strong and well qualified to do an outstanding job,” said Mark Jacobs, dean of Barrett Honors College.
