Barbara Barrett who, with her husband Craig Barrett, endowed Arizona State University with the funds to build and support Barrett, the Honors College, grew up on a family-owned horse farm in Indiana.

She spent her childhood helping around the farm and giving horse rides for 25 cents. It was a humble beginning for a woman who would earn three degrees from ASU, serve as a U.S. ambassador to Finland, run for governor of Arizona, learn to fly fighter jets and become a leader in corporate, educational, and philanthropic circles.
