Barrett Honors College and the School of International Letters and Cultures will be hosting Beth Piatote, (Nez Perce, Colville Confederated Tribes), from University of California, Berkley. Professor Beth Piatote, a Nez Perce scholar and creative writer from the University of California Berkeley, will be visiting Barrett to give a presentation about her Indigenous rewriting of the classic Greek tragedy Antigone, and in the process talk about the vital relation of Indigenous culture and history to the kind of global humanities covered in The Human Event.
