Residential College Experience

Barrett is the oldest model of a residential college on the ASU campus and unique among public universities in providing a four-year residential experience. In 2009, through an innovative partnership between ASU and American Campus Communities, Barrett became the first intentionally designed honors college campus in the United States and is widely considered the most evolved concept for an honors college with the presence of distinct honors facilities on all four ASU campuses.

Barrett students live in the Barrett residential community for their first two years. Learning from and having direct access to honors administrators, faculty, staff and fellow students in a strong honors community of world-class amenities, resources, and support, maximizes student participation both in and out of the classroom.  A significant number of ASU students living on campus are honors students who positively impact the classroom environment and hold many university-wide leadership positions of leadership.

Honors students who commute also take advantage of the access to their home away from home while on campus.  To learn more about the unique honors communities on each campus, please see the tabs below.
