The Jaguar Players Drama Club is an after school program for 6th-8th graders. We produce 2 full productions a year: a play in the Fall and a musical in the Spring. This internship would be assisting our technical director by both helping design/operate sound, lights, construction, and media as well as teaching students about these areas. The intern will enhance their technical theatre skills and learn how to adapt prior technical knowledge for a non-traditional performance space. The intern will also learn how to teach previously learned skills to children and help foster their creativity and passion for Theatre.
Interns would be required to attend all rehearsals that the crews are ask to attend (typically Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3:15-4:30 but times change when the performances get closer). A calendar of dates and times will be provided at the beginning of the internship. The Fall production starts in August and performs at the end of September. The Spring production starts in January and performs at the end of April.
Previous Theatre experience, knowledge of lights and sound design, finger print clearance. Experience working with children is desired but not required.
