Communication: Research assistants need to be able to speak and write about their findings clearly, as well as understand assignments and instructions.
Work Habits: Research will primarily be done independent of the professor or with the support of graduate students, another/other students and promptness is essential.
Attention to Detail: Finding the right information – takes concentration to find the most complete, rigorously researched, and most recent.
Critical Thinking: Research assistants need to use decisive reasoning to determine the best course of action in their research.
Technical Skills: Research assistants will use computers to research their information, as well as record their findings in Word, Excel or some other equivalent programs.
The Global Sport Institute seeks Research Assistants who are able to identify, explore and summarize information gathered from multiple sources including, the internet, polls, surveys, legal documents, and other published research. Honors credit is available for selected students.
