At ASU and as part of the honors experience, Barrett provides a diversity of travel experiences at a variety of costs both within the United States and around the globe. Now, more than ever, our world is growing in its demand for globally-minded people, and one of the best ways to achieve this is through travel and exploration. Employers and graduate schools recognize the importance of domestic and international travel and it is certainly a desirable quality in potential job candidates. Additionally, the skills acquired through travel are some of the most valuable in the professional world, such as independence, networking, and language acquisition. Travel teaches self-sufficiency, tolerance and resourcefulness and our alumni who complete travel experiences report it is their most important and meaningful educational experience and one they remember the rest of their lives.
In the past year, Barrett developed an entire office devoted to global travel, global classroom experiences, and efforts to bring world leaders to Barrett to engage in meaningful dialog about world affairs. For Barrett global experiences, please visit the Barrett global page. For a significant number of travel opportunities within the United States, please explore our Great American Cities program, Class Connections trips, and national park excursions here on the menu to the right of this page. Exploring the cultural, historical, political and artistic nuances of our diverse American landscape with Barrett peers and staff is very rewarding. There are some scholarships available to support these trips and look for scholarships in general that fund study abroad programs, international research, internships, personal projects, language learning, and even leisure travel. Scholarship donors want students to travel, and thus many scholarships are dedicated solely to this cause both internal and external to Barrett.
