Barrett Explores [Class Connections]

Class Connections brings students from each graduating class together to get to know each other while visiting fun and interesting destinations. Each trip will be open to students within the corresponding class first and, if space is available after the designated registration period any Barrett student may sign up to participate.

Class Connection Trip - Sedona


September 28, 2019
Class of 2023, join us for a day trip to Sedona, AZ this fall. View the stunning red rocks and experience this unique Arizona town! In the morning, we will travel to Slide Rock Park for some trail walking and hiking before heading to Downtown Sedona for some sightseeing and shopping. Lastly, get back on the bus to head back to the Tempe campus. Lunch is provided. The cost of this trip is $10, but if cost is a deterrent, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Cathy Gutierrez at!

Join the Class of 2022 on the sophomore class trip to Disneyland! Each spring semester, we take a group of sophomore Barrett students to the Happiest Place on Earth for a turnaround trip. The cost for this trip will be $120 and includes a park hopper ticket to both Disneyland and California Adventure, a seat on the bus, and snacks. Tickets will go on sale in November, please email Ashley Brand at with any questions.

Ski Trip

March 27-29, 2020

Class of 2021, this trip is for you! We will be taking a group of Barrett juniors on a multiple day-trip up to Brian Head, Utah. Experience two days on some of the most beautiful slopes the southwest has to offer with your Barrett peers! The cost for this trip will be $200 and includes a two-day lift ticket, one night lodging, a seat on the bus, and snacks. Please note that meals, as well as ski/snowboard rentals are not included.

Spring Break 2020
During Spring Break 2020, Barrett seniors will enjoy a diverse range of landscapes and culture as we explore the best that Costa Rica has to offer! With a mixture of nature hikes, rainforest trails, the Hanging Bridges of Mistico Park, traveling to Arenal Volcano, and exploring Costa Rica's famous beaches, we invite you to end your senior year at Barrett with a bang! Students will have an opportunity to explore three different diverse landscapes of Costa Rica while learning about the wildlife, geography, and culture of this magical place.

March 7-15, 2020
$1550ish (not including flight)

Saturday, March 7 Arrive at the Juan Santamaría International Airport. 1 night accommodation in San Jose.

Sunday, March 8  Early morning departure as we head to the Pacuare River for a put in for a White Water Rafting Adventure. En route we will stop for breakfast (included) at a restaurant with an amazing view. After an orientation and safety talk about white water rafting, we will proceed down the river. An incredible lunch on the river bank is included. Lodging will be in the Rios Tropicales Ecolodge (dinner included)

Monday, March 9 After breakfast, we will continue down the river for a second day of White Water Rafting on the Pacuare River. After lunch (provided), we will head to Arenal Volcano.

Tuesday, March 10 Arenal Canopy zip line tour and entrance into the National Park (Be prepared to see all the wildlife – monkeys, snakes, birds, sloths, and more!). Evening we will head into town.

Wednesday, March 11 Guided hike along nature trails and hardened lava flows of Arenal Volcano National Park. Learn about the ecosytems and life cycles that volcanos create. We will take a guided tour of this beautiful region. We will be transferring via Lake Crossing to Monteverde

Thursday, March 12 Salvatura Canopy Zip Line and Sky Walk tour which will include all guides, equipment and entrance fees. Explore another region of Costa Rica and see a different landscape and ecostyem.

Friday, March 13 Morning hike followed by a transfer to Guanacaste (the dry Northwest region of Costa Rica). Students will have transferred from the rainforest to a more desert landscape.

Saturday, March 14 Students will enjoy the final day at the beautiful, famous beaches of Costa Rica in Guanacaste. Enjoy snorkeling or hanging out with the monkeys on the beach.

Sunday, March 15 Departure.
