Barrett on the ASU West campus combines the opportunities of a large research university offering a broad selection of academic and professional programs with the advantages of a small, selective liberal arts college in a suburban location. A diverse mix of exceptional non-traditional students are drawn here by faculty committed to the highest quality university education, and they contribute to a thriving community of scholars.

The Barrett West Community

Being a member of Barrett, The Honors College at ASU West, means being a member of a community of scholars who will nurture your success and enrich your college experience.

All Barrett students, whether they live on or off campus, have access to the Barrett Suite. In the Barrett Suite, students can find quiet places to study, use the best computers on campus, take advantage of free printing, and meet face-to-face with honors faculty and advisors. The Barrett suite also has communal areas where students can relax, play games, and engage in lively discussions in the most welcoming atmosphere possible.

The Barrett Suite hosts honors lectures and receptions for visiting scholars. In these events, students can get the chance to learn about the most interesting and cutting edge topics in science and academia as well as make lasting connections with faculty and other students.

The Barrett Suite also hosts many fun events including game nights, movie screenings, art workshops by BAM, and social events hosted by the Freshmyn Mentor Program or Upper Division Welcome Program.

The Barrett Residential College

Living on campus as a Barrett student means that you will be surrounded by other Barrett scholars in an environment that supports your success. Your roommates and neighbors will represent many of the highest achieving scholars, undergraduate researchers, and Student Government representatives, which will help to bolster your own achievement.

You will also enjoy the support of the Barrett Residential Community (BRC), a group of your peers dedicated to helping you thrive. In addition to helping you get acclimated to your housing and the Barrett community, the BRC plans regular social events and outings to make sure on-campus students always have something fun to balance the hard work of classes.
