The Barrett Residential Community in Taylor Place is an engaging living and learning environment consisting of a diverse group of multi-disciplinary honors students. Located in urban downtown Phoenix, the Barrett community ensures that students are supported academically and socially through a multitude of events and programs. Barrett also works to ensure the transition to college is supported through our network of student leaders here on the Downtown Phoenix Campus.
Residential College Student Leaders (RCSLs)
RCSLs are live-in student leaders residing within the Barrett Residential Community in Taylor Place. RCSLs provide substantial support to all honors students within this living and learning community by coordinating social events, serving as an academic resource, and providing additional support to college initiatives. RCSLs work to ensure that the downtown honors students remain engaged and are integral in fostering a positive environment for the Barrett community.
Barrett Downtown Peer Mentors are live-in student leaders residing within the Barrett Residential Community in Taylor Place. This team of student leaders provides support and mentorship to first-year honors students, with each Peer Mentor working with a smaller group (or “pod”) of Barrett Downtown freshmen. Additionally, Peer Mentors assist RCSLs in planning and executing engaging events and programs for the Barrett community.
Community Assistants (CAs)
CAs serve as undergraduate student leaders within ASU’s department of University Housing, and Barrett Downtown CAs live in the Barrett Residential Community in Taylor Place. CAs serve as an important resource to honors students living on-campus by ensuring the safety of the residents, performing many of the necessary administrative duties at Taylor Place, and fostering an engaging living and learning environment through various events and programs.
