Barrett offers two enrollment options, First-Year Entry and Upper Level Entry, for students currently enrolled in-person at Arizona State University. Both opportunities integrate into any undergraduate degree program across ASU’s four metropolitan Phoenix campuses - Downtown Phoenix, Polytechnic, Tempe and West Valley.

Barrett acceptance decisions are non-binding and may be declined without penalty. Prospective students may apply only once to Barrett for any given semester.
Currently enrolled ASU students where Spring 2027 is their first semester of college study should refer to the Fall 2027 deadlines posted on the First-Year Student page.

Prospective students should be mindful of deadlines and work to ensure that a complete Barrett application is on file by the appropriate date.
Students who submit an application in time for a particular deadline will receive a short grace period for missing letters of recommendation to be received.
The Barrett application does not need to be completed in one sitting. After starting the application, a student may re-access it via the “Apply now” button or though the Barrett Application Status area of their My ASU page.
The Barrett application is not designed for a cell phone. For the best experience, use the most current version of your internet browser.
After submission, candidates may monitor the status of their application through the Barrett Application Status area of their My ASU webpage. This includes checking the standing of their recommendation letters, sending reminder emails to their recommenders, and even replacing non-responsive letter writers. The Barrett decision letter also posts to this section.
Admitted students should closely review their Barrett admission letter for next steps. Upper Level and Barrett Online students must register for the required HON 370 The History of Ideas course to confirm Barrett enrollment. The deadline to do so varies based on Spring or Fall entry.
