Tempe campus and community
The eight-acre Barrett Complex, on the southeast corner of ASU’s Tempe campus, opened in 2009. The complex consists of nine buildings. Eight are residential and the ninth is our own honors student union, Honors Hall. Extensive input from Barrett’s dean, students, faculty and staff contributed to the design of this community, which features three large courtyards, an outdoor amphitheater, hammock posts and many areas to sit and enjoy the beautiful Arizona weather.
Vista del Sol is a residential community for students in their sophomore, junior and senior years, and is located just south of the Barrett first-year student complex. Nicknamed Barrett@Vista, it consists of 11 buildings, ten of which are apartment-style residence halls with a full kitchen and laundry in each unit. The eleventh building, the Vista del Sol Community Center, includes a resort-style pool, ramada with barbeque grills, volleyball court, and basketball court. The Center’s various indoor amenities include a movie theater, comprehensive gym, and lots of spaces designed for students to study.
