Downtown Phoenix housing and dining

Barrett Downtown Phoenix residential community

Housing for students at the ASU Downtown Phoenix campus is designed with comfort and convenience in mind. Gordon Commons is the residential community for first-year honors students. Upper Division honors students have the option of living in Gordon Commons or in one of the limited rooms within Fusion on First, Downtown’s newest apartment-style residential community, which opened in 2021.

Gordon Commons has lots of amenities –– like a laundry room with free washing machines and dryers on every floor, a dining hall, lounges with televisions and study space. Each room has a private bathroom and shower.

Tower 1 in Gordon Commons has a shared room layout, while Tower 2 has private rooms and a common area. Odd-numbered rooms in Tower 1 and even-numbered rooms in Tower 2 have striking views of Downtown Phoenix.

Downtown Phoenix offers unique honors housing

When you live on Barrett floors in Gordon Commons, you’ll become a member of a community of honors students, make friends and find other students that share your academic strengths and interests.

Fusion on First is a unique facility with apartment style student housing above a three-story high-tech innovation hub for the arts geared towards such academic programs as design, popular music and fashion.

As a Barrett upper division student living at Fusion on First, you’ll enjoy this multi-functional and innovative space.

Peer Academic Leaders

Peer Academic Leaders (PALs) are undergraduate student leaders who live in the residential community and support students in the honors college program. Barrett PALs help bring together the residential honors community and support students in achieving overall student success in the honors college. PALs host programs, share upcoming college specific information and act as a referral resource to get you the support you need.

Bi-weekly events hosted by PALs are geared towards supporting academic success or focused on building community and connecting with others. Past programs have included registration events, student leader pannels, "let's taco-bout the honors thesis," study sessions, movie nights, craft or paint nights or connecting with the Downtown Phoenix community to attend gardens or jazz shows.
