Welcome to Barrett Polytechnic

Barrett, The Honors College at the Polytechnic campus provides a unique academic experience that builds on the campus philosophy of “learning by doing.” Barrett students at the Polytechnic campus benefit from a tight-knit community, which provides numerous leadership and professional development opportunities and the ability to build connections with supportive faculty and staff and fellow Barrett students.

Barrett provides students opportunities to grow academically and socially. From connecting with the Barrett community at Poly Picnics, participating in community service in the Garden Commons or taking part in tutoring for Human Event papers, to multicultural events, painting nights or cooking demos, there are plenty of ways to meet new friends, develop professional skills and benefit from an honors education.

Join Barrett at the Polytechnic campus and be a part of our close-knit community of scholars.

The most popular place for Barrett students to gather and build community on the Polytechnic campus is the Barrett Suite. This multipurpose space is used for socializing with friends, collaborating on group projects, attending events and workshops, and buying Barrett swag during the monthly Barrett Buck store. Additionally, students can reserve spaces for studying, group projects, and thesis defenses.

Welcome from Associate Dean Sugar

Barrett Polytechnic Associate Dean Thomas Sugar

Welcome to the Barrett Honors College at the Polytechnic campus. My mission is to prepare students to become scholars in academia and leaders in industry.

The faculty, staff and I are here to educate and train you to achieve your aspirations, whether it’s finding that perfect career or pursuing advanced graduate or professional educational opportunities - either here or around the world. Barrett can help you find your place and raise your sights even beyond what you think is possible.

Here at the Polytechnic campus, our Barrett Suite in Lantana Hall features space exclusively for honors, students including two classrooms, study/work spaces, a lending library, and a lounge for events and gatherings. The Barrett Suite, with all its amenities, is the perfect place for students to work between classes or to spend the day studying. In addition to these student spaces, the suite houses the offices of our dedicated, full-time Barrett staff and faculty.

I encourage you to contact our office with questions and to schedule a visit so we can welcome you in person to Barrett, The Honors College at ASU’s Polytechnic campus.

Sincerely,

Dr. Thomas Sugar
