Downtown housing and dining

Barrett Downtown residential community

Housing for students at the ASU Downtown campus is designed with comfort and convenience in mind. Gordon Commons is the residential community for first-year honors students. Upper Division honors students have the option of living in Gordon Commons or in one of the limited rooms within Fusion on First, Downtown’s newest apartment-style residential community, which opened in 2021.

Gordon Commons has lots of amenities –– like a laundry room with free washing machines and dryers on every floor, a dining hall, lounges with televisions and study space. Each room has a private bathroom and shower.

Tower 1 in Gordon Commons has a shared room layout, while Tower 2 has private rooms and a common area. Odd-numbered rooms in Tower 1 and even-numbered rooms in Tower 2 have striking views of Downtown Phoenix.

Peer Academic Leaders

Peer Academic Leaders (PALs) live in the Barrett residential community and help honors students make the most of their undergraduate experience. They are friends and mentors who can help with practically anything - from school work to homesickness to connecting with peers.

Peer Academic Leaders plan bi-weekly events to bring the Barrett student community together for fun, friendship and academic success. Past events have included registration events, study sessions, movie nights, visiting local attractions like the Japanese Friendship Garden and more. Most PAL events provide a free meal for participants!
